An adults-only campsite in the Peak District has been named one of the best in England in the AA Caravan & Camping Awards 2024-2025. Among the winners is Longnor Wood Holiday Park near Newton, described as a ‘hidden gem’ by the AA inspector. It took the title of AA Campsite of the Year for the Heart of England. The inspector was impressed by its “secluded and very peaceful setting” which is “surrounded by meadows and beautiful rolling countryside and sheltered by woodland where there are walks to enjoy and lots of wildlife to observe.”The inspector added: “Guests can expect a warm, friendly welcome and a high standard to customer care.
The overall winner, and winner for Wales, at this year’s awards was Tyddyn Isaf Caravan Park, in the Isle of Anglesey. Witches Craig Caravan & Camping Park, in Stirling was named Campsite of the year for Scotland and Skelwith Fold Caravan Park in Cumbria took the title of Campsite of the year for England and the north west.
