A historic pub that is said to be haunted by ghosts has reopened in Manchester. Renovations on the Shakespeare pub on Fountain Street have been completed with punters finally allowed back on Wednesday .
As well as her, the chef who was said to have attacked her and was then hanged from a beam in the tavern also haunts the pub. The rope marks are still said to be visible on the beam of the building. Along with its aesthetic updates, the pub has adopted a refined colour scheme and modern conveniences, including fully refurbished restrooms and a cozy built-in log fire, creating an even more inviting setting for everyone to enjoy.
To accompany the renovation, The Shakespeare has launched a delightful new menu, featuring sharable small plates, classic pub fare and a competitive Sunday Roast menu. Breakfast is served daily from 8am and for families seeking a bit of respite from the bustling streets nearby, the pub now offers a dedicated children’s menu, making it a welcoming destination for all ages.
Beyond the visual improvements, the investment has provided over 25 new job opportunities for the local community, fostering community growth and providing fresh opportunities for locals in both front and back-of-house roles.
