The second part of the BBC documentary Murder Trial: The Disappearance of Renee and Andrew MacRae will be shown tonight. Dramatic testimony from one of Scotland’s most long-awaited murder trials will be revealed tonight in the second part of the BBC documentaryIt follows the trial of William MacDowell, arrested and tried for their murders almost half a century after they disappeared.
She then drove in the direction of Perth with three-year-old Andrew in the car. She was believed to be going to visit her sister, but it later emerged she was travelling to visit MacDowell. He was also the biological father of Andrew MacRae, and had been having a clandestine affair with Mrs MacRae for four years.
