The Department for Business and Trade has identified eight firms that have underpaid staff and must now give back pay

Companies across Lancashire have been named and shamed by the UK Government for failing to pay employees the minimum wage.

Others included in the report are Bare Hall Quality Carers Limited, in Bury, who owe £6,733.99 to 110 workers and Peek A Boo Day Care Limited, in Darwen, who didn't pay £2,465.83 to 12 workers. Others firms in Blackpool, Warton and Preston have also made the list.

The investigations by His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs concluded between 2015 and 2023. It comes as the National Living Wage is set to increase by 9.8% to £11.44 an hour on April 1. Whilst not all minimum wage underpayments are intentional, the government has been clear that anyone entitled to be paid the minimum wage should receive it, and that enforcement action will be taken against employers who do not pay their staff correctly.
