Ahead of the show’s release, showrunner Craig Mazin spoke about the importance of Ellie’s sexual orientation being honoured in the TV series.Like in the video game, the series revealed that she was in love with her best friend Riley, played by Storm Reid.When there were discussions about whether this fact might be omitted from the show, Bella told Yahoo Entertainment that she ‘wouldn’t have let that happen’.
