The Wigan band have been added to specially created Friday night slot
The Wigan indie band will play the first ever Salt and Tar Music Festival in Bootle with a Friday night slot added specifically for them. The line up also includes Red Rum Club on the Saturday and Case on the Sunday.
Since their debut album ‘How Beautiful Life Can Be’ reached number one in the UK album charts in 2021, The Lathums have enjoyed a rapid ascent. One live review described them as having ‘perfected the formula for creating all-out bangers and mass adoration’.The new festival tkaes place July 7-9 and is organised by Sefton Council, which has taken over and transformed the site formerly known as Bootle Canalside.
Last month Salt and Tar hosted a successful and well-attended Comedy Weekender, which saw a number of popular comedians bring the house down. Local comedian Chris McCausland, alongside Nina Gilligan and Patrick Monahan opened the weekend to a packed marquee on the Friday night. Cllr Marion Atkinson, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Skills said: “It was incredible to see how successful the Comedy Weekender at Salt and Tar was. It is a testament to the effort and dedication from everyone involved over the last few months. This is just the start of what we believe will be a huge boost to Bootle and the Sefton community from Salt and Tar.”
