First quarter finals of World in One City saw an excitement overload for players and fans

The World in One City is at the quarter final stage today with Nigeria playing Libya and Somali Team playing Yemen. The tournament sees 16 teams across the Liverpool City Region and from their national heritage compete for the title of World Champions.

"The semi is going to be a big game; Yemen or Somali Team, we're looking forward to it. Why not, we could be champions, because we've got the players that can make it." "Good luck to Libya, they wanted it more than us in the second half. Our players stopped playing for some reason. Onto next year." Three minutes into the second half Yemen equalised. A crafty goal on the turn by Amro Radfani to make it 1 - 1. However, 10 minutes later The Somali Team’s Mohammed Abdi drove home a penalty; for a 2 - 1 lead, a lead they kept for four minutes until Yemen’s Yusuf Mohsin levelled the game at 2 - 2.

The final whistle took forever, with 10 minutes of stoppages. When the whistle blew, it was the Somali Team who triumphed 4 - 3 to face Libya in the semi-final. "It's not played on a computer or a board. You have to go out there and take the tactics and use it. They did it brilliantly."
