One of the most highly-anticipated new shows of the year from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan is about to hit Paramount+
The Madison is shaping up to be one of the biggest new dramas of 2026 and it’s arriving on Paramount+ in just a week’s time. Featuring a stellar cast led by two Hollywood icons, the upcoming Western drama is written and created by Yellowstone mastermind Taylor Sheridan, with every episode directed by his frequent collaborator Christina Alexandra Voros.
Originally announced as a Yellowstone spin-off, The Madison is now believed to be an unrelated drama about a new set of characters set in Montana. Sheridan fans have reason to celebrate, too, as the series has already been renewed for a second season, which wrapped filming in December. But what exactly is The Madison about and who’s in the cast? Let’s take a closer look at what we know so far. What is The Madison about? Previously known for his sprawling Westerns and gritty crime dramas, showrunner Sheridan’s new series is set to be his most “intimate” TV project yet.Deciding to leave their luxurious confines as part of New York City’s elite, the Clyburns move to the Madison River valley to start their lives afresh. An official synopsis for the drama reads: “A New York family's life unravels after a tragedy; they process their grief while vacationing in rural Montana, where they explore human connection amid their profound sorrow.” While a logline confirms the series will take place “across two distinct worlds: the beautiful landscape of Montana and the vibrant energy of Manhattan as it examines the ties that bind families together.” Who is in the cast of The Madison? The Madison features a stellar cast of recognisable names, led by Hollywood heavyweights Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell. Pfeiffer and Russell portray husband-and-wife duo Stacy and Preston Clyburn, nearly 40 years after starring together in the 1988 film Tequila Sunrise. Pfeiffer has also starred in iconic films such as Scarface, Batman Returns and Hairspray and portrays Janet Van Dyne aka the Wasp in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Meanwhile, Russell is known for his roles in several beloved films by John Carpenter, including The Thing and Big Trouble in Little China, and has also appeared in the MCU film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. He currently stars in Apple TV’s Godzilla spin-off series, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. Other major names joining the series include Suits star Patrick J. Adams as Russell McIntosh, the husband of Stacy and Preston’s daughter Paige, portrayed by Elle Chapman. Chapman is a relative newcomer, whose most prominent credit so far has been the Tom Hanks film A Man Called Otto.The series will also include guest appearances from Will Arnett as Dr. Phil Yorn. Arnett is known for his comedic roles in shows like Arrested Development, voicing Bojack Horseman in the hit Netflix animated series, and most recently starred in Bradley Cooper’s new film Is This Thing On?
