Manchester United are in pot two for the group stage draw on Thursday
Manchester United are poised and ready for the Champions League draw and their grand return to the marquee European competition this season could see them pocket millions in additional revenue.
UEFA have yet to confirm prize funds specific to the 2023/2024 competition. However, according to figures taken from last season, there could be a maximum €85.14million prizemoney on offer to whoever grabs the famous trophy, a tally that can be significantly increased by . Reaching the last-16 and quarter-finals resulted in an extra €9.6million and €10.6million respectively. That is where the prize money really started to ramp up, too, as semi-finalists scooped €12.5million with an added €15.5million going to the runners-up and €20million to the winners. Totted-up together with six group-stage wins, that provisionally amounts to €85.14million before even considering the other income streams.
As things stand, United are ranked 11th in that regard and they will, seemingly, receive a decent chunk this season. Beyond that, the remaining 15 per cent is made available via broadcast revenues as and when deals are struck-up with the respective nations involved.
