Sambo has a cult following and his grave is an important symbol of Lancaster and Morecambe's dark past. The young black boy was ripped away from his home in West Africa in the 18th century and forced into slavery.
Sambo's Grave has become a vigil site for people to pay their respects to the memory of the tragedy and deprivation he and thousands of others suffered.
