Tributes have been paid to Christopher Hanley, 57, who died on Saturday following an incident in Beswick
The victim at the centre of the Beswick murder probe has now been identified as Christopher Hanley. The 57-year-old was found unresponsive by members of the public on Olympic Street, Beswick, on Saturday .
Emergency services attended the incident shortly before 11am however Christopher, also known as Chris, was pronounced dead at the scene. A murder investigation has since been launched by the GMP Major Incident Team, and two men have been arrested in connection. Police said that the investigation "continues at pace to get answers for Christopher’s loved ones." Paying tribute to him, Chris’s family said: “As a family we are heartbroken and shocked at the sudden loss of Chris.
Two men had been arrested as part of the murder investigation. A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and a 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both remain in custody to be quizzed by detectives.
