Charlene Mills was killed by her ex-partner Peter Pitt
As a protective sibling, Amber Thompson had a bad feeling about Peter Pitt from the moment she met him. Pitt began a relationship with her elder sister Charlene Mills about eight years ago.
She had spent a Friday night with him in the bedroom he lived in, within a shared house in Gorton. Charlene, 43, would not leave the house alive. Pitt strangled her to death and left her in his bed, before the tragedy was discovered the next morning. She was ‘beautiful inside and out’, and would make everyone smile. ‘Strong-willed, kind, and cheeky’, her family said that the ‘world just won’t be as fun without her’. Amber said that her sister was ‘too good’ for Pitt.
“She used to go cleaning for my mum, my mum used to give her money and she used to give that to him. He would say he was ‘ill’ and ‘needed it’, and he ‘couldn’t function’. He couldn’t get his legs to work because his joints were in pain. So he didn’t go and get it himself, he sent my sister to go and get it for him.
