An underground cocktail bar and a dining terrace is on the cards for the old bank
An old bank in Stalybridge that has stood empty for years could become a hotspot for nightlife, food and drink.
The ground floor will house a modern restaurant and bar with a focus on locally sourced ingredients and craft beverages. A section of the first floor will also be cordoned off for the terrace and a private dining experience. The applicant, listed as Andrew Fogg, said he believes the ‘adaptive reuse project’ can revitalise the historic structure and contribute to the local economy as well as ‘enhance the community's social and cultural fabric’. Mr Fogg hopes the new establishment will create jobs in the restaurant, hospitality, and service sectors.
“The bar will offer craft cocktails, fine wines, local beers, and a small plates menu. Comfortable seating, soft lighting, and ambient music will make it an inviting place for customers to relax and socialise, enhancing Stalybridge's nightlife.”
