Research has found that eating a certain fruit - that people will be surprised to find out is a fruit - each day for six months led to a decrease in high cholesterol levels.

A recording of high cholesterol levels can be dangerous, as an issue like this could lead to heart problems and even a stroke. High levels of cholesterol can be caused by not exercising, smoking, a poor diet and drinking - and there isn't typical symptoms for this issue.

Professor Penny Kris-Etherton of Penn State university, an author of the study that was published in the Journal of the American Heart Association, said: "While the avocados did not affect belly fat or weight gain, the study still provides evidence that avocados can be a beneficial addition to a well-balanced diet.

For six months in total, 923 participants were split into two groups - where one group ate avocados each day and the other, none at all. Their cholesterol levels were measured through the testing period, and those who ate the avocados had less LDL cholesterol. These vitamins and minerals are vital for many functions in the body, and are overall linked to well-being.
