If everyone we watch on TV is getting work done, the responsible thing to do is admit it
We are inured to cosmetic surgery – but that doesn’t mean we should stop talking about it was released, and there’s only one scene that’s really aged.
And I’m not just talking about celebrities: I am 33 and I don’t yet fear ageing, but I do fear that by the time I reach 40, cosmetic treatments will be so routine among my peers that I’ll already have given in – and that if I haven’t, it will feel like I’ve simply chosen to look worse than everyone else .
It leaves us half deceived that it’s all good genes and good hydration, and half puzzling through photos of them on Google Images “before and after” guessing what work they’ve had done. And, obviously, feeling sexist for even speculating about a woman’s appearance, and her choices regarding it, in the first place.Paula Froelich writing in The Times
