It features dozens of charming cottages which look just like Kate Winslet's from the much-loved 2006 film starring Cameron Diaz and Jude Law

Getting cosy on the sofa and watching a Christmas film is a tradition for many at this time of year. The Holiday, starring Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law and Jack Black is a firm favourite thanks to its heart-warming plot and gorgeous scenery which ranges from wintery English countryside to sunny California.

In the film Rosehill Cottage is nestled in picturesque countryside and features beautiful stone walls and of course the iconic roll-top bath tub which is far too small for American Amanda’s tastes. Most of the scenes set in England were filmed in Surrey, however the cottage itself is not real - in fact it was a set built at a film studio. The house was based on real-life Honeysuckle Cottage in Holmbury St Mary, which has previously been available to book on Airbnb but has since been removed.

It also has several cosy pubs where you could easily imagine Amanda and Graham cosying up with a glass of wine. One Tiktok user travelgirlything posted a video of Castleton accompanied with music from the film’s soundtrack and captioned it: “Feels like #theHoliday”. The iconic Hans Zimmer theme has also been used in other videos of the village.
