The Queue, chaotic mini-Budgets and (almost) winning Eurovision... 🔴 When we look back on 2022, without the daily shellshock of having to live through it, here's what you may remember:
Do you remember where you were on 19 July? I do. You were sitting inside in your pants, with the curtains drawn, muttering swear words at the sun. This was the day that Britain recorded a temperature of over 40It was a terrifying day that would be destined to be remembered for ever, were it not for the fact that it’ll be even hotter next year, and the year after that, and every year after that until we’re all sunburnt and dead.
He crawled through insect-infested tunnels and ate kangaroo genitalia in some sort of weird apology without ever actually labelling it as such. Did it make people like him? Hard to say. It made them like him more than Chris Moyles, but that’s hardly saying anything.What an absolute treat it was to see Mick Lynch, secretary-general of the RMT, absolutely massacre the British media throughout 2022.
Their Bringing-It-Home victory was one thing, but the manner of the win – the leaping and screaming in a giant fluorescent burst of joy – was almost enough to make you think that 2022 perhaps was a good year after all. But it wasn’t, though. It was crap.
