If you love seafood and want to enjoy some of the best oysters Scotland has to offer, this place is a must visit.
Scotland is home to some of the best seafood in the world, and sadly we Scots perhaps don't appreciate it enough.
As you wind your around the northern tip of the water at Cairndow, you'll soon discover the unassuming little white-walled restaurant and shop that offers a panoramic view of the loch and of course, the wonderful bounty sourced from it.As the name might suggest Loch Fyne Oysters, which is just over an hour's drive from Glasgow on the way to Invereray on the A83, is home to a famous oyster bar and deli shop that is home to some mouth-watering seafood.
From the humble beginnings as a small farm shop set up in a tiny shed in the lay-by at the head of Loch Fyne in the early 1980s by oyster enthusiasts Johnny Noble and Andy Lane, the current shop, deli and white walled modern restaurant offers everything from freshly-caught langoustines and smoked salmon to jams, local meats and sweets.
Grab a seat inside the restaurant, with views of the sea loch, or head outside, when the weather is warmer, to enjoy everything from Hand Dived Scallops and Loch Fyne Langoustines to smoked salmon and the seafood platter.
