China will lift trade sanctions on imports of Australian barley after three years, which has been described by the federal government as the 'right outcome' for both countries.
Beijing suspended imports of the crop in 2020, as part of a long-running trade dispute involving various Aussie goods.
She described the barley industry a"success story in diversification" with producers increasing exports from $400 million to $3 billion to the rest of the world during the trade barrier with China. Since 2020, China has slapped various sanctions on Australian goods, which include wine, beef and lobster.
Mr Farrell said the trade barriers on barely for the last three years have blocked almost $1 billion of annual imports into the Chinese market.
