I’ve been writing about video games, television and movies for Forbes for over 10 years, and you may have seen my reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. I cover all manner of console and PC games, but if it’s about looting or shooting, I’m definitely there. If I’m watching something, it’s usually science fiction, horror or superheroic.
Boy, people really wanted to see Tom Brady get roasted, huh? It is pretty amazing to me that the three hour takedown of the quarterback, titled simply, has been on top of the Netflix top 10 list since its live stream on May 5, almost two weeks ago. Now, it’s finally been knocked off the top.
No, not by Bridgerton season 3, which did come out today, but it won’t register on the chart until tomorrow. Rather, the show in question is a documentary about Ashley Madison, subtitled Sex, Lies and Scandal. It’s a three episode doc about the infamous “have an affair” site that suffered a data breach revealing its users. I will admit that does sound like a rather fascinating topic to dive into.
Elsewhere on the list we have a new Kevin Hart special, that I’m a little surprised did not make it to #1, given his popularity. Baby Reindeer is still holding extremely strong at #4, especially given that it was released over a month ago on April 11. That is an incredible performance though again, it’s not getting a season 2 because it’s not that type of show.already on the list at #8, purely because of people rewatching the old seasons ahead of season 3’s drop today.
“I loved when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun,” Brady said. “I didn’t like the way that it affected my kids, so it’s the hardest part about like the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize I wouldn’t do that again because of the way that affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world.”Tom Brady’s kids, but there were plenty about their mom, his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen.
That said, I’m sure Netflix is going to keep doing roasts, and we’ll see if they can land someone who is as much of a draw as Tom Brady clearly was.
