The royal family finished off this year's Trooping the Colour celebrations with the traditional appearance on Buckingham Palace's famous balcony, where they viewed the Royal Air Force flypast following a military procession down the Mall.Flanking King Charles and Queen Camilla were Prince William and Princess Kate, as well as the Waleses' three children—Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
There are technically no fixed rules on who is allowed to appear on the balcony, but in recent years the number of attending family members has been downsized as the amount of working senior royals has also dwindled. During Queen Elizabeth's 2022 Platinum Jubilee celebrations, for instance, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson explained to Bazaar that only senior royals “who are currently undertaking official public duties on behalf of the queen” would be invited to make public appearances.
