Professor Laurie Santos – the woman behind The Science of Wellbeing – has revealed her advice for getting through this coronavirus lockdown.
“Research suggests that happy people tend to be relatively social,” explains Santos. “This is a hard thing to do in the time of Covid-19 because social distancing often means we can’t physically hang out with the people we care about.”
“You see their facial expressions, hear the emotion in their voice, you’re really able to connect with them.” On a similar note, Santos also suggests that we focus less on ourselves, and far more on others. Or, to put it more bluntly, make an effort to be kinder to the people around us.
