Duvall reportedly died in her sleep as a result of complications from diabetes
Actress Shelley Duvall at the Eighth Annual CableACE Awards Nominees Luncheon on 19 January 1987 at Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Actress Shelly Duvall, who starred alongside Jack Nicholson in The Shining, has died aged 75.
Duvall said during filming Kubrick had her “crying 12 hours a day for weeks on end,” said Duvall in a 1981 interview with People magazine. “I will never give that much again. If you want to get into pain and call it art, go ahead, but not with me.”Duvall stared in many iconic 1970s films directed by Robert Altman, including her acting debut in Brewster McCloud, where she played a teenage tour guide, before she starred as a mail-order bride in McCabe & Mrs Miller in 1971.
In her most critically acclaimed role she portrayed the wife of Jack Nicholson’s in 1980 movie The Shining.
