Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light returned to BBC One for the first of four episodes on Sunday and the opening scene left viewers 'traumatised'. The episode began with Anne Boleyn's execution at the hands of a French swordsman.

The executioner was also left shaken by the atmosphere and Anne's courage - but in the BBC show he is seen to be unmoved.
