Experts have said that the villain speaking Yiddish fuels the trope that Jewish people secretly rule the world.
The Board of Deputies of British Jews has slammedAmanda Bowman, Vice President of the board, claims that the show’s villains using the Yiddish is flaming a conspiracy theory that Jews are secretly controlling the world.
The Handler, played by Kate Walsh in the smash comic book adaptation, is seen throughout the show sporadically using the Jewish language. She is in charge of a team of assassins and board The Commission – which manipulates the world around them in order to control the future.In The Umbrella Academy, the seven adopted superhero siblings go against The Commission, as they try to stop the apocalypse from occurring.
