The Albanian Riviera offers the perks of a classic sun holiday without the soaring costs.

Summer is just around the corner and while now is the time that many start daydreaming about a sunny getaway, soaring prices can often keep this from coming true.

Located on Southeastern Europe’s Balkan Peninsula, the Albanian Riviera's is made up of several beach cities and villages. Its landscape mirrors the likes you would see in a highly visited tourist hotspot, but for a lower a price. Holidaymakers that like to get out and about needn't fear, as the region is home to plenty of UNESCO protected heritage sites, one being the Butrint National Archaeological Park. A ten minute drive from Ksmail, visitors can learn about the ancient Roman city full of historic buildings and ruins.

Tourists could also stay put and enjoy a full holiday in Saranda, which is considered the Riviera's unofficial capital and home to even larger beaches than Ksmail. Accommodation options across the region vary in price, but there are options which are good value, with beachside apartments going for as little as £434 - which can sleep up to four - for an entire week on Booking.com.

"Oh, the wonders of modern technology, what's not to love? I must admit, I was skeptical at first. How could something so small handle the messes of daily life, especially with a dog that sheds enough to knit a jumper every week? Don't let the size fool you. In my opinion, the SwitchBot K10+ has been a game-changer.
