'It's about having a set of principles I live by, not worshipping devils'
He lives in St Ann's, he owns and runs a business, and he has a partner. Shaun Pritchard lives a normal life and appears to be an ordinary man.
"It's something I've always been interested in since I was young, but I only officially came out as a witch a few years ago," he said. "That holds no bearing and all comes from false tales from the 14th century. The more people understand about witchcraft, the less fear-based responses you get. It's about having a set of principles I live by, not worshipping devils."
These mixed reactions are also felt by Shaun when he publicly discusses his ability to cast spells. The 46-year-old says he has been doing this for friends and family years before he launched his business. The health benefits Shaun says come with witchcraft play the most significant role in his belief system and shape the way he lives his life. He says it's the biggest driver behind new business Silvercrow, where he teaches people the history and foundations of magic.
"Nottingham has an abundance of medicinal herbs that grow out of pavements, so I help people find them. It's also a hugely creative process, and so you get the benefits from that as well."
