Grab your big coat and step outside for a refreshing stroll in one of Greater Manchester's prettiest parks
When it’s cold outside it can be tempting to stay in and hibernate on the sofa. But our parks and gardens can be just as wonderful on a crisp winter’s day as they are in the height of summer.
Going for a walk can clear your head and help you to relax; while immersing yourself in nature can leave you inspired and boost your wellbeing. We’ve got so many parks and gardens to choose from across Greater Manchester where you can stretch your legs and get the steps in. Oldham’s Alexandra Park looked particularly stunning during the first snowfall of this winter in November, so it’s one to add to your list if you fancy a walk on a chilly winter’s day.
Found on the edge of the town centre, Alexandra Park dates back to the Victorian era and is full of features which hark back to the period. It has a scenic boating lake, overlooked by a pretty boathouse where you’ll find a café.
