What you can and can't recycle, plus the beauty brands doing it best
enters our ocean – and that’s on top of what is already there. It’s chilling stuff but if so many of us can recycle our kitchen waste, stats like these suggest that perhaps we are just not au fait with what we can and can't recycle in the beauty sphere, so don't do it at all.
“We are well versed in having two bins in the kitchen, one for recycling and the other for landfill waste. But in the bathroom, many people just have one bin for everything, which ends in landfill. The problem is that many beauty products contain multiple materials, which leaves consumers confused,” says Stephen Clarke, head of communications for recycling company TerraCycle and Loop Europe.
