The past two seasons have been excellent for the vineyard, producing a chardonnay for the first time in four years post-drought."Now that we're spending the time [in the vineyard] we're seeing the quality of the wine improve out of sight over the last three years," she said. "If we don't get a tonne of grapes we can't produce for the year; we don't buy anything else in because we want to keep it unique to us," she said."We have changed our pruning techniques on the chardonnay to increase our yields, which has happened."
"I know when Bill started the vineyard, when he started talking about it, locals were very pessimistic and laughed at him for thinking about it, but it has paid off," Mrs Bray said.
