The night sky is set to be illuminated with stunning displays tonight above parts of the UK
Stargazers could catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights this weekend, according to the Met Office. The aurora borealis, as it is also known, may illuminate night skies across the UK on Saturday evening into Sunday morning.
Greater Manchester is expected to have a relatively clear night according to forecasters, which increases the chances of spotting the Northern Lights. “They will mainly be visible from North Wales/Midlands northwards. This is because there will be too much cloud across the rest of the UK tonight for it to be visible.
