Danny Boyle has got a script for a David Bowie epic, that the late star once rejected.
The Trainspotting director once worked with Millions screenwriter Frank Cottrell Boyce, who penned a script for the film but Boyle has admitted that Bowie wasn’t actually interested in it. The movie idea was floated to him in 2012, when Boyle was also leading the charge for the London Olympics but the Space Oddity star – who died of cancer in 2016 – wasn’t that keen on the idea of revisiting the past.‘I talked to Bowie about it at the Olympic Games and went to see him.‘It wasn’t clear to anybody he was ill. All he was saying was, “I don’t want to do anything in the past. I am working on stuff for the future.”‘He added to Empire magazine: ‘I’m not sure if we’ll come back to it.
