'Could it actually be a UFO?'
Urmston and Davyhulme residents have been left scratching their heads this weekend following a 'mystery noise' they say is 'driving them insane'. Locals described a 'bass, rumbling noise' like 'machinery or grinding' starting just after 11[pm last night .
It could be heard for miles across Trafford from Davyhulme to Partington. Local Facebook group Urmston M41ers saw lively discussion of what the source of the noise could be. Road works, railway track repairs, a steam roller, a motorcycle, a helicopter, a rave and a UFO were all among the suggestions. But all were in agreement that the noise, which apparently has been sounding for several weekends in a row, was 'really loud' and 'really annoying'."Thank god for that, I thought I was going insane. It's driving me mad," wrote another resident.The noise appeared to finally stop just before midnight.
