Lewis Blowe, Travel advisor at TUI Trafford Centre, shares why Barcelona ticks all the great city break boxes and more
When me and my best friend Sophie visited back in 2019, I remember thinking it was a way better version of the Corn Exchange in Manchester! It was November when we went, so the weather was nice but not hot hot. I always think that’s a good idea for a city break.
I’d recommend having breakfast at the hotel, too. It gets great reviews and with that sorted you’re free to start exploring early. Parts of the park are free to visit but to see the famous Gaudí structures in the ‘monumental zone’ you have to buy tickets - I used the Go City pass.Booking ahead couldn’t be simpler and you can skip the queues, so more time to soak up the atmosphere.
The city’s football stadium is something else! I only saw it from outside, but I’ve booked a few customers in for a Nou Camp experience. The feedback has been really positive! The best place to see it is up on the city walls but to really feel the buzz you should check out Stradun Street, a pedestrian thoroughfare full of cafés and towering landmarks like the iconic Rector’s Palace.Relax at the TUI BLUE Kalamota Island, a 25-minute boat ride from Dubrovnik. The hotel has a pool on its smart sea-view terrace, a beach at the front - and is surrounded by palms and olive groves.
The city is a kaleidoscope of art galleries and museums. Booking ahead for some of its most iconic attractions is quick and easy with TUI Collection experiences.
