From the Chloé Paddington and Balenciaga Le City to the Mulberry Bayswater and Coach Ergo, these were the bags that made a vintage comeback in 2024.
Vintage bags were more popular than ever in 2024, with Google searches for “second-hand designer/ luxury bags” peaking this year – and doubling in the past five years alone. Why the surge in interest, you might ask? “In the past, only the savvy few knew where to buy good, authentic vintage,” Charlotte Rogers, resale expert and founder of This Old Thing, tells Vogue.
The monogrammed style has enjoyed a comeback this year, although former Vogue staffer Liana Satenstein was – as ever – ahead of the curve, writing back in 2022 that the tote “means business”. Fast forward to this year, and Zendaya was spotted with a new black version on her arm, meaning that the OG versions are sure to spike in popularity.
