‘El Diablo’ Fabio Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli are set to arrive in the Philippines this March for a track day to remember. Thousands are expected to flock to the Clark International Speedway on March 4 for Yamaha’s Apex Arrival. After years of waiting, racing fans can finally share the racetrack with the best Yamaha has to offer in the MotoGP.
During the beginning of Fabio’s Grand Prix racing career, he was already a well-known figure. He entered the Moto3 class at just 15. The Frenchman was considered a threat from the start because he was the 2013 and 2014 FIM CEV Moto3 Champion. He achieved two of his dreams in 2021, becoming world champion and following in the footsteps of his hero Valentino Rossi by joining the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team.
Franco Morbidelli, a racer’s son, has been riding bikes since he was old enough to walk. His father Livio, an ex-rider from Italy who built his son his first motorcycle when he was just two years old, is the source of his passion for bikes. Franco’s third season with Petronas Yamaha SRT was set to begin in 2021, but it was cut short owing to a knee injury, a protracted recovery period, and ultimately the Italian’s move to the Yamaha Factory team.
The event will not just be an exclusive appearance of the duo but a special track day experience featuring Yamaha’s top racing motorcycles. As an added treat, a raffle draw will be held with the prize being an all expense paid trip to watch the Malaysia GP. As greatness arrives on our tracks, their presence will serve as an inspiration to aspiring Filipino riders who dream of being in the MotoGP.
