Injury updates on Trent Alexander-Arnold and Thiago Alcanatara from Liverpool assistant boss Pep Lijnders
Trent Alexander-Arnold has upped his recovery from a recent hamstring injury but will miss out on Liverpool's Carabao Cup tie against Leicester City - while Thiago Alcantara is yet to return to training.
Since the resumption of club football, Alexander-Arnold has sat out of Liverpool's wins over Wolverhampton Wanderers, LASK and West Ham United, with the defender only fit enough to train individually at the club's AXA Training Centre last week. “Trent trained yesterday with us but it was just in the rondo and the ball possession with the counter-pressing, but he was outstanding," said Lijnders, speaking to liverpoolfc.com.
