Mohamed Salah has reached another Liverpool landmark and statistics point to why he remains as important as ever
It seems barely a week goes by without Mohamed Salah reaching another Liverpool landmark or smashing a long-standing record.
The Egyptian has also now been involved in at least one goal in each of his last 11 top-flight fixtures, the longest such sequence of any player since Salah himself registered 15 in a row in the first half of the 2021/22 season.READ MORE: 'I know for a fact' - Michail Antonio makes bold claim over Mohamed Salah Liverpool future
Yes, he remains a deadly marksman, reaching the 30-goal landmark in four of his six full seasons at Liverpool and in each of his last three campaigns. But only once, in the 2020/21 season, has he had fewer than 12 assists in a single term. But while his assists against Wolves were from roughly the same position on the pitch - the right-hand side of the penalty area - they were markedly different, a driven cross allowing Cody Gakpo to tap in the equaliser at the far post before a superbly-weighted return pass invited the incoming Andy Robertson to put Liverpool ahead.
Salah, of course, has made no secret of his love of landmarks. "He knows the numbers, he knows everything," says Klopp. "He knows before all of us that there's a record around the corner he can grab. He doesn't need help there.
