The Austin Asian American Film Festival returns in late June, marking 16 years of presenting films made by Asian American filmmakers.
AUSTIN, Texas — The weekend is upon us and, as always, there are a ton of things going on in the Austin area! From a TV festival to Pride Month events, there's no shortage of fun activities happening over the next few days.The ATX Television Festival returns this weekend! Similar to a traditional film festival, this event instead features premieres of new TV series, panels featuring well-known TV stars and more.
Activities for Sunday's event include creating an art project with Galleries at Black Studies, learning about the Juneteenth flag and creating your own and interactive STEM demos and hands-on activities with Girlstart. At 10:30 a.m., poetic storyteller Oba William King will share traditional drumming, songs and stories about Juneteenth, and at 1 p.m., attendees can catch a screening of the documentary"Juneteenth: Faith and Freedom.
