From egg hunts to adventure trails, there are some sweet treats in store for families over the spring break
It's quite a task for parents, but never fear, help is at hand. We've been scouring the area for some of the best Easter events and attractions open to all the family over the holiday period and brought them together below.
Open Air Bounce The outdoor bounce park is returning in time for the Easter holidays - this time with the 'country's largest inflatable'. Based on Umberton Farm, in Over Hulton, Bolton, the attraction is packed with 15 huge inflatables including bouncy castles, slides and obstacle courses. This year there will be longer play sessions, extra dates and even more characters and entertainment for little ones to enjoy during their visit.
Smithills Open Farm The Easter Egg Hunt at Smithills Open Farm in Bolton is always a popular event with families. This year it's running on March 23 and 24 and then from March 29 to April 1. Families are led into the woods where the egg hunt arena is based. Children get the opportunity to search for rubber and plastic eggs and are able to exchange them for chocolate ones. . There are other prizes to find along the route too, and some Easter bunnies and chicks are hiding in the woods.
East Lancashire Railway Spring into action and hop aboard the East Lancashire Railway this Easter break where there are loads of events planned. The fun includes the chance to meet Peter Rabbit as the beloved Beatrix Potter character hops by Bury Transport Museum on March 31 and April 1. Families can book tickets to capture the magic with a special photo opportunity alongside Peter himself.
The Rock Bury Families are invited to step into a 'world of imagination' at The Rock in Bury this Easter. Located in St John’s Square at The Rock, this magical sweet treat-themed house will be in situ from March 29 until April 12. On two dates - March 30 and April 5 - there will be a range of free sweet-treat-making workshops. These will include cookie decorating, chocolate marbling and mallow bunny making.
Chester Zoo The Really Wild Easter Trail is coming to Chester Zoo with families encouraged to complete the challenge and collect a free sweet treat from the gift shop as a reward. The trail is free with zoo entry and runs from March 23 to April 14. You may get chance to spot the zoo's new snow leopard arrivals or the Rothschild’s giraffe calf who was born to mum Orla earlier this month.
