International think tank Stratbase ADR Institute branded China’s new “standard” map as a desperate attempt to legitimize its territorial claims, which are largely unrecognized.
Manhit also stressed that the 2016 arbitral ruling, which declared China’s nine-dash line as baseless and illegal, is clear and final. Manhit noted that several countries have already issued statements condemning China’s territorial expansionist standard map.
