Skylar Celeste Boone A new app unveiled recently by the Dothan Fire Department connects CPR-trained residents and those suffering medical emergencies to provide aid until EMTs arrive.
The app will send an alert to CPR trained citizens whenever there is a need for CPR for an individual in a public venue. This app could increase the chances of life saving measures being started as soon as possible, fire officials said. “PulsePoint is the cherry on top of that training,” said Deputy Chief Chris Etheridge. “It will get to that victim a lot faster than we can get there and they can start the life-saving chest compressions and AED use until we can get there and take over.”
