Senior government sources have said Britain should ‘prepare for the fall of Vladimir Putin’. An apparent coup by the Wagner mercenary group that was narrowly avoided has exposed the political instability in Russia.
Meanwhile, John Glen, the chief secretary to the Treasury, said Britain continues to support Ukraine but would not get involved in what was happening in Russia.
