ITV bosses were concerned about a negative reception at the National Television Awards (NTA) ceremony in London and that's exactly what they got on Tuesday night.
Viewers tuning into the National Television Awards on Tuesday night noticed that the fears of ITV bosses had come true as the presenters of This Morning were seemingly 'booed' by those in attendance in the crowd as they were shown on-screen at the event.
The fears of a decline in support for the show come following Phillip Schofield's sensational exit from his roles at ITV and face of This Morning as he admitted to an affair with a younger male colleague that he later confirmed was "unwise but not illegal." Controversial television personality and former Good Morning Britain star Piers Morgan was also welcomed to the event in a sea of booing from the crowds however appeared to be completely unbothered by the chorus of negative chants.
