Poppy O'Toole, who often shares handy cooking advice on episodes of ITV show This Morning, has given us her top three tips for making extra crisp roast potatoes
Whether they're paired with meat, smothered in gravy or eaten by the bowl-full, Sundays just wouldn't feel complete without them in our gobs.
1. Use the correct potato If you thought the type of potatoes you use on a Sunday didn't matter, you'd be wrong. Picking the right spud can make all the difference. Poppy recommends par boiling, which means placing them in boiling water before roasting. She says 10 minutes will do the job – as "they're a little bit softer when they come out, but they crisp up easier in the fat".
Poppy added: "The dryer the potatoes are when they go into the hot fat, the crispier they're going to be."
