A blurred image of Star Wars' TV characters behind Darth Vader

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Some of the standout episodes from Star Wars' many TV shows contain one franchise villain, and it is not Darth Vader. While Star Wars has always dabbled in TV thanks to the Ewok animated series, the expanded timeline of Star Wars: The Clone Wars was the franchise's first true step into serialized stories.

Darth Maul Is Part Of Star Wars' Best TV Episodes The Iconic Phantom Menace Villain Elevates Star Wars TV Close The Star Wars villain in question is none other than Darth Maul, the Sith apprentice introduced in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. Maul was killed in his first chronological Star Wars movie, meaning many who are not familiar with the franchise's TV efforts will think he remained dead. As confirmed in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, this was not the case.

Concerning Star Wars Rebels, Maul appeared in the highest-rated episodes of this show too. The six best Star Wars Rebels episodes contain three that include Maul as a main character. These include both parts of the Rebels season 2 finale "Twilight of the Apprentice," and "Twin Suns." The latter is an episode from Star Wars Rebels season 3 in which Maul and Obi-Wan Kenobi's decades-long feud comes to a head.

For one, Maul's appearance in The Clone Wars was a major part of the latter four seasons. His rise back to prominence after his resurrection and subsequent attempts to rule Mandalore were integral to The Clone Wars seasons 3 and 5. In The Clone Wars season 7, Maul's rule of Mandalore played a part in the show's finale while setting up his positive impact in Star Wars Rebels.
