, Gigi Hadid and Ariana Grande – opted for a ’90s lace wedding gown by Lolita Lempicka for her intimate outdoor ceremony in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park in August. “The dress just made sense – she’s a French designer, I’m from France,” Marie tells. “I love the very ethereal wedding gown style that matched the place where we had the ceremony.”, decided straight away they wanted a summer wedding. “We didn’t want to wait for next year,” the bride explains.
Despite living on separate continents, Marie, who was based in Paris at the time, and Marek, who was in New York, met via a dating app last summer. The pair went on their first date in the French capital when Berry flew to Europe to visit a friend. “He was in Brussels, and was like, ‘Wait, I’m actually two hours from Paris, so how about I come?’” the vintage dealer recalls. “We had a beautiful weekend together, and I just knew that it was right.
After that, the couple entered a long-distance relationship, with the pair travelling back and forth between Paris and New York to see each other. “When we were not together, we were calling each other a lot and talking a lot. So we really had the time to discover each other and talk about what we both wanted,” Marie continues. “Very early on in the relationship I knew I wanted to be his wife.”
