Confirming the news on its website, a message read: “Thomas Cook UK Plc and associated UK entities have entered Compulsory Liquidation and are now under the control of the Official Receiver.
Currently, some 150,000 British holidaymakers are now stranded abroad and are anxiously waiting to find out how they’ll get home. According to plane spotters, aircraft started jetting out to popular holiday resorts last night as the rescue mission commenced. It had been reported that holidaymakers could wait as long as two weeks to be brought him – however, Thomas Cook has denied this, stressing that homeward flights would be close to customers' original return dates.
