Thorpe Park is playing host to a new gaming event which has all your favourite characters in attendance. Sort of.

Thorpe Park has announced a new esports gaming event, where it’s guaranteed you’ll never have the worst cosplay.

Taking place from 6 April to 31 May, Thorpe Park will host esports event GameFX which invites novices and master players to showcase their skills for a big screen livestream, a retro gaming lounge, and the latest in virtual reality. The event promises a ‘fully-immersive audience experience’ – with immersion only possibly broken by a Mario and Luigi combo fresh from Del Boy’s van.

Keeping it down with the kids is Fortnite cosplay with pickaxe intact, while Sonic the Hedgehog appears to have been told another Sonic Boom is in the works. Shudder.year, and features a number of rides based on franchises like Saw, The Walking Dead, and Derren Brown.It’s like we’re in the Mushroom Kingdom
