The Manchester Evening News is calling for the government to commit to the urgent rebuilding of North Manchester General Hospital
The Manchester Evening News is calling for the government to commit to the 'once-in-a-generation' project first promised in 2019. But the plans to rebuild the crumbling North Manchester General Hospital have stalled - and it remains in limbo while a review takes place.
He told the M.E.N. that he was 'really sorry' that people in Greater Manchester had been 'let down', accusing his predecessors for making 'unfunded promises'. Preliminary work on the rebuild has been under way since 2022 with a new car park now up and running. Please sign our petition A petition setting out the demands - to fully fund the new hospital and prioritise the rebuild for 2025 - has now received more than 2,500 signatures. Many of those who have signed the petition have also shared their reasons for supporting the M.E.N.'s campaign.
Setting out her reasons for signing the petition, Nicola Dale wrote: "Because it is needed in the community."
